Yoga Teacher Training

 

During the course, you will cover various topics, including ancient and modern-day wisdom, with a deep dive into ancient yogic philosophy and how it relates to us today.
We will cover anatomy and physiology and explore different types of breath, meditation, mindfulness, chakras, sound, ayurveda, ethics, chanting, mudras, and so much more.

Student numbers:
Students are capped at 12 maximum per intake to create an intimate container that allows Rashi to support students in a dedicated way.

The days are extended and designed to deeply enrich your practice and understanding of yoga.  Throughout this transformative program, you will build a strong foundation for yoga philosophy and practice.

Upon completion of the Stretch and Flow Academy YTT contact hours and assessments, you will obtain your certificate and be a qualified yoga teacher, ready to impart your knowledge to your students while feeling confident in your practice, knowledge, ability, and experience.

There is no rush for completion. Rashi understands the complexities of life and encourages all students to travel at their own pace. Learning will be ongoing even after the course has ceased.

 This fully accredited course will allow you to teach yoga insured anywhere in the world.

Individual Module Objectives and Outcomes

Asana

  • Students will be able to teach a 60-minute yoga flow using correct cues, sequencing, and pace. In addition, students will understand the importance of contraindications, modifications and the importance of anatomy and physiology whilst they teach.

Yoga

Students will understand the history and meaning of yoga, understand the eight limbs of yoga and how it is relevant to their life today, on and off the mat.

  • Students will study, learn and apply the Yamas and Niyamas in their life through an 8-week challenge and journal what they got presented to.
  • Students will explore different styles of yoga and share their experiences and how it affected them physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
  • Students will be introduced to yogic texts, including the ancient yoga sutras, and reflect on how this is relevant to their life today.

Pranayama and the Subtle Body

  • Students will study the major chakras and incorporate poses in their practice teaching to activate these chakras.
  • Students will study and discuss the 5 Koshas and apply this to their practice teaching and self-reflection before and after a class.
  • Students will learn different styles of breath and lead a breath meditation/exercise to show understanding.

Meditation

  • Students will learn an introduction to mindfulness and how mindfulness philosophy can be threaded through when teaching a yoga class.
  • Students will study different styles of meditation and show their understanding by leading various styles.
  • Students will show their understanding of the benefits of mindfulness by developing a daily self-care mindfulness practice that works for them.

Anatomy and Physiology

  • Students will be taught by a qualified physiotherapist and understand in relation to yoga and asana, key muscle groups, stretching, contraction, flexion, and the skeletal system.
  • Their understanding will be tested through an online quiz.

Ethics

  • Students will understand the importance of their scope of practice when referring clients and the ethics and guidelines stated by Yoga Alliance.
  • Students will understand the importance of professional boundaries.
  • Students will understand the importance of continued education and explore how they will put this into practice after they gain their certificate.


Business

  • Students will learn a basic introduction to business and will journal their mission statement and core values.
  • Students will learn basic marketing skills, the importance of insurance and discover who their target audience is.
  • Students will be taught possible pathways/options after they graduate.

Teaching and Practice Teaching

  • Students will be shown the required hours and the breakdown. They will practice teaching throughout the program and journal their insights and reflections. 
  • By the end of the program, students will be confident teaching all groups and know the contraindications and when to offer modifications.
  • Students will be taught how to give and receive compassionate feedback.

Electives

  • Specialised electives will be discussed with students, such as pregnancy yoga, sound healing, advanced mindfulness, and mentoring options.
